Our Beliefs

The Scriptures

We believe “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God,” by which we understand the whole Bible is inspired in the sense that holy men of God “were moved by the Holy Spirit” to write the very words of Scripture. We believe the whole Bible, in the originals, is therefore without error.

Man, Created & Fallen

We believe man was originally created in the image and after the likeness of God. He fell through sin and as a consequence of his sin, lost his spiritual life becoming dead in trespasses and sins becoming subject to the power of the devil. Hence every child of Adam is born into the world with nature which not only possesses no spark of divine life but is essentially and unchangeably bad apart from divine grace.

Scripture References: Gen. 1:26; Rom. 3:23, 5:12-14

The Godhead

We believe the Godhead eternally exists in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—and that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience.

Scripture References: John 1:14; Acts 5:3–4; 2 Cor. 13:14; Heb. 1:1–3

Salvation Only Through Christ

We believe that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born again by repenting of their sins and believing in and confessing Jesus Christ.  We believe our redemption was accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was made to be sin and was made a curse for us, dying in our room and stead.

Scripture Reference: John 3:1-18, Rom. 5:6-11, 10:1-10

The Extent of Salvation

We believe when a person exercises faith in Christ he passes immediately out of spiritual death into spiritual life, and from the old creation into the new; being justified from all things. Salvation is not a temporary thing that can be lost but is permanent and complete because of Jesus Christ.  The believer has the assurance of salvation.

Scripture References: John 10:28-30; Rom. 8:38-39; Eph. 4:30
